“Change occurs when people become who they are,
not when they try to become what they are not.”

- Arnold Beisser

Hello, my name is Julia Werner, a trained Gestalt therapist. My counselling service, Gestalt Pathways, offers private counselling and psychotherapy to individuals and couples. I also offer Walk and Talk Therapy.

I invite you to join me on Gestalt Pathways – a relational, compassionate and mindful psychotherapy journey. Gestalt Pathways aims to support you with your growth and change by evoking your potential and development within the unique context of your life.

You are welcome to have a closer look around my website.

WHAT IS GESTALT THERAPY?

Gestalt therapy is a form of holistic psychotherapy based upon the idea that we carry everything that we need to feel whole already within us. The guiding principle is that all of us, in our individually shaped connection of mind, body and soul are already whole, and we are best understood in relation to the environment that has shaped us and our current situation, as we experience it. A gestalt therapist would assist you to expand your awareness about how you think, feel and act in the current moment and how you relate to the world in order to enable you to creatively unfold the healing power that each of us intrinsically has.

WHAT DOES GESTALT MEAN?

Gestalt is a German word with no exact English equivalent that describes something as a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. An example is the Gestalt Pathways logo (above) which is composed of red elements that not only create a circle but can also reveal an image. You may not have been aware of the emergent pattern initially as some ‘gestalts’ are not always immediately obvious to us.

This may be similar to your unrealised potential that our work together can help you become more aware of. That also applies to the possibly not unfolded potential of your relationship.
